I like this application. I still need it. During the AOL years of 1 - 9.8 I saved pictures as art.file. The AOL Gold accepts Jpg. I need 9.7 to convert pictures as I find them. It would be nice if AOL would incorporate an art.file converter in AOL Gold. However AOL 9.7 will just have to suffice.
I found your post helpful and wanted to ask: which version of AOL Desktop (for Windows OS) do you like the best? I believe I read that you prefer AOL 9.7. Is this correct and please elaborate with your specific reasons and what the pros and cons are between AOL 9.8.2 (apparently, it’s the latest version), AOL Desktop Gold and AOL 9.7.
Thank you very much for your share and hope to hear back from you.

I've had AOL for at least 12 years & am pretty well happy with it. I prefer AOL Desktop because there are so many more things you can do while visiting. But - I recently had to go to Windows 10 w/a 64 bit system & I think my old AOL Desktop is for a 32 bit system is not compatible. I was hoping they would have AOL Desktop w/64 bit system available.
AOL software takes forever to load new emails and issues "error" messages constantly when I'm trying to send/forward emails. They have too many processes running in the background which proves they care more about collecting revenue than their customers, two thumbs down!
Maybe you have a little too much 'clutter' that needs to be flushed out or deleted.
Have you tried CCleaner (free) to help with cleanup? Have you uninstalled old programs you no longer need that could be slowing down your system? Just because you click 'delete' does not 'uninstall' a program. It must also be 'uninstalled.'
In the past I have 'restored' my computer back to factory specs - & it performs like brand new. But you DO have to re-install many programs once you get up & running.
I found if I try using AOL.com - it is as slow to navigate.
I went back to the page with all the AOL Websites & installed AOL DESKTOP - & It is much easier & faster to navigate & has more operator friendly features.
Praise the Lord!
I have been using AOL9.5 since it came out and I prefer using it over other browers.
Thank you for your service.
Have a nice life with Jesus.

I love you also.
